Elephant's Head wildflower (Pedicularis groenlandica).  Grows in moist alpine/subalpine mountain meadows. Northern Rocky Mountains. Summer.   Note: this is a root parasite which obtains nutrients from the roots of other plants by piercing them with haustoria.
