Red Admiral Butterfly (Vanessa atalanta) feeds on nectar from Goldenrod flowers (Solidago sp.) in September, Rondeau Provincial Park, southwestern Ontario, Canada. As goildenrod pollen is too sticky and heavy to be dispersed on the wind, the plant relies for pollination on the numerous insects who feast on its pollen and/or nector.
