Alaskan or Northern Sea Otter (Enhydra lutris) mom with very young pup. Young pups at this age cannot dive (can hardly swim) so the mother leaves them floating on the surface while she dives for food--often gone several minutes. Once she resurfaces she will almost always go an touch the pup before diving again.
