Wild Horse (about one year old), Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Refuge, Wyoming. Spring. The mustangs found here in the Pryor's are of the old type European Spanish descent introduced into the America's by the early Spanish explorers. Some people believe these horses in the Pryors can be traced to the Lewis and Clark expedition (they lost their horses near present day Billings, Montana). (Equus caballus)
