Gregarious non-breeding Atlantic Puffins (Fratercula arctica) 'hang out' during nesting season on grassy slopes and rock ledges near the many scattered burrows of the colony's breeding pairs, here along the coast of eastern Newfoundland, summer, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Puffins communicate much more with gestures than vocalizations. These two puffins engaged in 'billing' are likely greeting or getting to know each other.
